Expeller pressed Oil: Like it sounds, this oil was expressed without heat. It is a more pure oil. It is not hydrogenated, which would be like pounding a square peg into a round hole. And the body would have to store the excess. The body can use this oil, and eliminate it easier.
Nama Shoyu: Nama means raw, shoyu is soy sauce. This is the Raw food version of Kikkoman Soy Sauce. It gives fullness of flavor.
Sweeteners: everyone has their own reason for using the sweetener that they do, so use what works for you. You can substitute these three for any sweetener you need:
Raw honey: uncooked honey. Usually you have to set it on the counter in the sun, or in the sink in warm water, to thaw out.
Pure Grade B Maple Syrup: The Grade B pure syrup is the highest quality. Usually found on the shelf at the health food store, sometimes it is found in the refrigerated section.
Soaked Dates: Soaked whole in water overnight until soft, and make sure that you take the pits out before you use them!
Vegenaise: A mayonnaise-type dressing, which has no milk, cheese, or eggs in it? It is a good transition food to get you to more raw foods. You find it in the refrigerated section of the health food store. There is only one problem with this: Don’t eat it with a spoon, its too good! Follow your Heart is the brand.
Bubbies: A brand of condiments, claiming that they are raw sauerkraut and pickles, and horseradish. Again these foods assist you to transition a little easier into the raw food realm.
Spike: A seasoning full of herbs that assists in the transition process. Use instead of salt. Modern Products, Inc, is the brand.
Real Salt: A direct mineral, mined right out of the Redmond Salt mine in Central Utah. A pure source of salt, pink color as well. No colorings, bleach, or additives. Redmond Minerals, Inc is the brand
